Attending the Activate Learning Careers Fairs 2024

The ENVY team were in attendance at this years Activate Learning Careers Fairs. Throughout the week, each of Activate Learning’s colleges hosted their own Careers and Apprenticeships Fair with students being invited down to meet employers and businesses to discuss potential career paths and future opportunities.

In attendance at the fairs in Reading, Guildford and Farnham were Head of Client Services, Tom Morgan; Staff Development Manager, Tom Holliday and PR & Social Media Coordinator, Dan Roberts.
Our team explained the process of making a television programme and where a post house fits into the pipeline, explaining the services we provide and all the things to think about when making a show. They also shared their advice for starting out in the industry and what employers look for in prospective employees.

ENVY first partnered with Activate Learning in 2023, having previously spoken to Creative students at Reading College, it was the first time we attended their Careers Fairs.
Tom Morgan commented, “It was extremely refreshing to speak with those interested in media at such a young age, keen to learn more about post and the industry in general. We are looking forward to seeing a few of them attend our Work Experience scheme later this year.”

Tom Holliday added, “The Activate Learning Careers fair was a great opportunity for the students to explore all the available options available to them. It was great to be able to meet some of the students, talk about what we do and explain further the routes available in our industry. It is always interesting to see the reactions of the students when they realize that there are hundreds of potential paths within the post-production industry.”
